IvoryWalker

Last year during the summer we had this storm during a massive heat wave which was a horrible combination. The storm knocked out power leaving my home in sweltering  heat which eventually led to my external hard drive, with all my work, malfunctioning and dieing. I sent it to Data Recovery and was told it would cost me 400+ to get my information back.. As of yesterday all of my work has been returned! Although this is a problem you all didn't know of I wanted to share my joy!

First a little mini rant. What is with people being rude for no reason? I am open for people critiquing my work or even flat out giving criticism but if you do so I expect to actually offer words that will be of use. Flat out rudeness is as worthless as flat out praise. I am learning nothing! I am sorry but people who say you put yourself out their so you should deal with it that is bull shit and a sorry excuse for people being nasty just because they can hide behind the internet or whatever. Even if I see something that I feel is just plain garbage I don't try to tear the person down and make them feel worthless. If I find that I can't leave a comment that I feel will benefit them in some way then I back off and think on it before saying something. If you are on this site I am guessing you are at least 13 years old which means you know the difference between criticism and being an asshole. Let us stop this argument of "you put yourself out their" and pretty much not making people responsible for their actions! Please offer my critique, offer me criticism but make sure I am actually going to be able to better myself from it. I don't expect everyone to love my work, hell I don't always love my work. I don't want you to coddle me and I am not asking you to hold my hand. If you can't compliment my work that is fine you don't need too but if you can't say anything to help me improve either than just keep on keeping on .


So about a month or so ago I upgraded my tablet. I had a Bamboo but I know have an Intuos 5 touch...large. I don't know why I got a large, Oh wait because I was told that the largest I can afford is what I should get. This damn thing is almost the same size as me! It is pretty awesome though, I haven't really had time to use it much but I like it. Was more than a little disappointed that nobody entered my Crow contest . I am going to save up to add some prizes and make it more tempting and give it another go.

There Can Be Only One Contest: First Edition
So I have decided to do a series of contest where only one person is named winner. That is correct many can enter but only one will take the prize/s.  You may only enter one piece although you will be allowed to refine it until the last day of submissions.  If you submit photo-manipulations into this contest you must provide links crediting every stock artist that you use, no excuses.  This goes also for any paintings, traditional and digital, that use reference photos in their creations. Please use appropriate stock photos, just because you found it on Google doesn't give you the right to use it, that do not infringe on people's rights. Any submissions that are found to have stolen art in it will be disqualified and the artist responsible for the submission will be reported.
The first contest theme is "The Crow: Steampunk World" and will be open to all visual mediums. You may draw inspiration from the original story of The Crow by James O'Barr or from any of the films.
Rules
Must be The Crow related.
The work must be solely your own. No collaborations.
All stock, even if only used for reference, must be properly cited.
Must use two stock photos from the group StockofAges as either a reference or in a manipulation.
Deadline for entries are July 17th 2012 11:59 pm eastern
